INSTRUMENTS WE TEACH:

  • VIOLIN:

Our violin instructors are accomplished and highly skilled in teaching violin. They teach classical by using the Suzuki Method, which focuses on teaching students the importance of diligence and mastery of each note. Suzuki emphasizes on ear training, but our teachers ensure that students gain musical reading skills.

Our teachers also teach fiddling, a bluegrass genre of music. Students are encouraged to compete in local fiddle contests.

  • PIANO:

Our piano/keyboard instructors are experienced and exceptionally qualifed in teaching piano. They use various piano methods such as Bastien, Alfred, and Faber. Our teachers emphasize on musical reading skills, ear training skills, theory, and excellence in piano technique. Students participate in monthly group lessons in addition to weekly private lessons and also perform in bi-annual recitals.

  • GUITAR:

The guitar instructors at VCMA are talented and passionate about teaching guitar. They have solid backgrounds of theory, ear training, musical performance, and focus on teaching students the importance of diligence in practicing in order to perform at a standard of excellence. Our instructors use Hal Leonard Guitar Curriculum but pull from other curriculums for a more eclectic education.

  • BASS:

The experienced bass instructors at VCMA offer dynamic lessons on the electric bass that will help students become a valuable asset to any band's rhythm section.

  • VOICE:

Vocal Instructors at VCMA aim to teach the ins and outs of proper vocal technique to all students. Students will learn to sing in a way that not only keeps their vocal cords safe from the damage that can come with improper technique, but also focuses on improving and strengthening their voice.
